Change log 140408 -> 150228
These are the changes between version 1.08 (140408) and 1.09 (150228).
Client Changes
- Added support for Intel based Windows 8 tablets using 16:10 or 16:9 aspect ratio and a minimum resolution of 1280x720.
- Client now has a new command line parameter -tablet that enables tablet mode and makes it possible to play the game using a touch screen.
- Client now has a new command line parameter -w8tab30px that enables tablet mode and leaves 30px gap on the bottom of the screen for task bar using small icons (same as "-tablet -fs -x 0 -y 0 -w 1280 -h 770" on a 1280x800 screen).
- Client now has a new command line parameter -w8tab40px that enables tablet mode and leaves 40px gap on the bottom of the screen for task bar using normal icons (same as "-tablet -fs -x 0 -y 0 -w 1280 -h 760" on a 1280x800 screen).
- Client now has a new command line parameter -hires that shows high resolution tiles even if the window size is smaller than 1440x900.
- Removed the trigger that dropped the gate on one of the pre-generated maps that sometimes caused players to become stuck if their character was too poor.
- Added some usability improvements to reduce key presses (e.g. loot window now places the cursor over an item after an action is taken).
- Added an automatic rest shortcut that rests until the player is at full health when Pri. Use+Rest is pressed (Default: Ctrl+Numpad5).
- Fixed a graphics bug that caused the mouse cursor to reset when dragging items over certain interface components.
- Fixed a bug that allowed static armour pieces (such as Woof's skin) to be broken, and which also made shields unbreakable from damage.
- Low level traps have been nerfed and their snares are much easier to escape from (yes, even low strenght toons will climb out of them in few turns).
- Fixed a bug that caused Scroll of Knowledge to teach already known spells if the spells were taught by a trainer instead of a tome.
- Fixed a bug that prevented encounters from finishing correctly if the boss was crushed by a boulder.
- All buff spells are now self cast spells instead of targeted spells (this was done to reduce the number of key presses, but it might also help to reduce the number of accidental self cast damage spells after casting a buff spell).
- Divine Grace and Divine Might now affects the caster and all friends within line of sight (that's right, it is now possible to properly buff your friends).
- Illumination now affects the caster and all creatures within line of sight (note that it also alerts hostile creatures of your presence).
- Added four new swarm creatures. Swarms are immune to all effects except fire and they start off as fast creatures but they slow down after they have lost two thirds of their health.
- Added "Please don't hurt me!" difficulty level where the player selects a class and starts the game with class specific talents, spells and equipment. In addition, enemies are progressively weaker, traps do less damage, unidentified items can be sold, some heritages and challenges can't be unlocked (and Kings won't be remembered).
- Fixed an AI bug that caused creatures to stare at each other through a closed gate instead of using an adjacent lever to open the gate.
- Amulet of Seven Keys has received a major buff that should make it slightly more usable now.
- Added five new Wizard Staff items that teach one of the orb spells when wielded and the Wizard's Staff heritage now equips the rogue with one of them at the start of the game (yes, it is now possible to start a game with a STA/CHA character).
- Disease potions now have alternate effects when they are cursed and the chance of them being cursed has been increased significantly. Other potions can no longer be cursed at least until they receive their own alternate effects in the future (uhuh, gulping that cursed potion of sickness is now a good thing).
- Fixed a bug that allowed two-handed weapons to be swapped to offhand.
- Did a complete overhaul of encounter boss items and gave the items new names as well as new unique graphics to some of them. Also added a few new items and removed the third enchant from those staffs that had three of them. The difficulty of some encounters has changed with this change.
- Added a new thrown weapon to Master Gifin-Gif and his merry band of Blackhand assassins. Instant death immunity is now needed in addition to poison immunity when dealing with these guys.
- Added 10 new heritages, 5 crafting items and 42 crafting schematics.
- Added a quest to save Artificer Leo Noerde. The quest becomes available in the Artisans' Guild at level 5 and completing it on any difficulty level unlocks one of the new heritages and enables crafting.
- Merchants and their henchmen can no longer be killed by hunger.
- Artisans' Guild can now be used to store crafting materials as well as gold.
- Fixed a bug that caused the player to be mangled by a gate upon entering a new level if the new level happened to have a gate at the same location where the player was in the previous level.
- Added extra trigger for spell hotkey tutorial that should bring it up if the previous tutorial entry has been showed.
- Added crafting interface.
